asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has taken any steps to obtain from the German Government a definite decision as to whether that Government will sign an Eastern pact of non-aggression?

Since my speech in the course of the Debate in this House on 11th July, I have on several occasions reverted to the matter with the German Government. I have, however, up to the present received no definite reply.

In view of the importance of this question, will the Government put the strongest pressure upon the German Government to get a definite decision on this matter? Will they also inform them that unless there is a definite decision the Government will withdraw the Anglo-German Naval Agreement?
