asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is now in a position to say whether the report of the Import Duties Advisory Committee for an application for an increase in the tariff on foreign condensed milk will be available for Parliamentary approval, if necessary, before the House rises for the summer recess?

Will the hon. Gentleman see that no Order of this kind, which is likely to interfere with the price of milk will be issued when the House is not sitting, but will be held over until the House is in a position to confirm or reject it?

Cannot we have an answer to that question, which is one of very great importance. Possibly an Order, which may raise the price of milk to the poorer classes may be settled in the absence of the House of Commons.
