asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that a Weymouth firm is indiscriminately sending out by halfpenny postage circulars describing and illustrating goods of an intimate nature to the annoyance and disgust of many parents; and will he take steps to make the circulation of this type of literature through the post illegal?
I am aware that circulars of the nature described are being sent; but I am advised that, unless the language used is indecent or obscene, I have no power to prohibit the transmission of such circulars by post.
Does my right hon. and gallant Friend know that every time notices of birth appear in newspapers parents are subject to a deluge of disgusting correspondence of this kind?
