asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the total number of persons who have made applications to Glasgow Corporation for municipal houses who are not yet placed; and the sizes of each type of houses required to re-house all applicants?

I am informed that the list of applications before the Corporation is being revised in order to determine the number of new houses actually required. The list at present includes between 80,000 and 90,000 applicants, but I understand that not all of these persons are houseless or living in overcrowded or uninhabitable conditions, and that for a variety of reasons probably 50 per cent. of the applicants at least would be ineligible for a corporation house. The information asked for in the last part of the question is not meantime available.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish a statement showing the names of the various members of the consultative council on health administration who attended each of the meetings of that council and who signed the report which recommends the means test for Stateaided houses?

The names of the members of the consultative council are shown on page 3 of the report, which is signed by the chairman on behalf of the council. I am informed that the draft report as finally revised was, before signature, circulated for approval to all members of the council who either specifically approved it or did not intimate dissent. The question of the attendance of the members at each meeting does not therefore appear to rise.
