asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what action he has decided to take on Sir Samuel Wilson's report on his visit to Malaya?
His Majesty's Government have given full consideration to Sir Samuel Wilson's Report and have approved the course of action which he recommends. Effect will be given to his recommendations in consultation with the High Commissioner. I should like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation—which I know will be shared by hon. Members who have read the report—of the thoroughness with which Sir Samuel Wilson has discharged his task.
Has my right hon. Friend any idea when the scheme is likely to be started?
If my hon. Friend is very familiar with the report he will know that it suggests a whole series of proposals which will have to be carried out successively.
