In 1927, the latest year for which data are available, the imports into the United Kingdom of goods classed as wholly or mainly manufactured (other than manufactured food, drink and tobacco) consigned from the United States amounted to £68,307,000, and the exports from the United Kingdom to the United States of the same class of goods amounted to £38,334,000, of which £35,803,000 represented the value of goods manufactured in the United Kingdom. Sufficient information is not available to enable me to state what proportion of these goods entered the countries concerned free of Customs duties.
