The Department undertakes to observe the provisions of the Factory Acts in industrial establishments under its control, but if the hon. Member has reason to believe that this is not being done in any case, my Noble Friend, the First Com- missioner of Works, will be glad to make inquiries if he is supplied with particulars.

While thanking the hon. and gallant Gentleman for his answer, may I remind him that I promised to send particulars with regard to the War Department?

The War Department is not under the Office of Works.
