asked the Minister of Labour what were the grounds on which the Employment Exchange at Ibstock was closed; and whether, in view of the fact that men on short time in that area have now to walk several miles a day to register, he will take steps to have it reopened?

The temporary Employment Exchange at Ibstock was closed last February because of the small number then unemployed in the district. In consequence of the recent increase in unemployment it has already been decided to reopen the office temporarily as from 29th April.
