When the Public Safety Ordinance recently issued by the Governor-General in Council is received here, my Noble Friend will consider the desirability of its presentation to Parliament as a Command Paper together with a brief statement of the reasons which necessitated its issue. As to any more general statement, however, I would remind the hon. Member that the trial of certain persons in India on a conspiracy charge is now pending, and it would be improper to publish any statement on a matter that is sub judice.
