asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether any of the 16 persons arrested on suspicion of complicity in the murder of Mr. J. P. Saunders at Lahore, on the 17th December last, have been brought up on trial?

So far as is known none of the 16 persons who were arrested at the outset and afterwards released on bail have been brought up for trial. The further investigation of the case is, however, being proceeded with as fast as the circumstances permit.
