Captain BENN:
48.asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the evacua- tions of German territory now being carried out, how soon it is the intention of the Government to evacuate Cologne?
Mr Ronald McNeill
, Canterbury
Yes. Sir. The evacuation will take place as soon as the German Government have completed the execution of the measures of disarmament contained in the Allied Note of the 4th June.
Mr Ronald McNeill
, Canterbury
That is quite a different question from the one on the Paper.
Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
