asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether the. conditions and terms ruling investments made by savings certificates taken up in the names of children are still in force; and, if so, whether steps can be taken to alter the advertisements in the Press stating that certificates can be cashed at any time?
Mr. GUINNESS:
No alteration has been made in the terms and conditions governing savings certificates taken up in the names of children. It is not possible to insert in every advertisement of certificates the whole of the Regulations applicable, but in the case of advertisements especially designed to encourage investment by or for children, care is taken to avoid any statement of the kind referred to.
