Motion made, and Question proposed,

"That the Special Order made by the Electricity Commissioners under the Electricity (Supply) Acts, 1882 to 1922, and confirmed by the Minister of Transport under The. Electricity (Supply) Act, 1919, in respect of the urban district of Guisborough in the North Riding of the county of York, which was presented on the 9th day of June. 1925, be approved."—[Colonel Ashley.]

Should we not have some explanation of this matter?

The matter has been the subject of the inquiry. It is to enable the urban district of Guisborough to supply electricity to the inhabitants of the district who desire it very much.

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Special Order made by the Electricity Commissioners under the Electricity (Supply) Acts, 1882 to 1922, and con-finned by the Minister of Transport under The Electricity (Supply) Act, 1919, in respect of the township of Alwoodley and part of the township of Adel-cum-Eccup, in the rural district of Wharfedale, in the West Riding of the county of York, which was presented on the 20th day of May, 1925, be approved.—[Colonel Ashley.]

Minister

Ministers make up the Government and almost all are members of the House of Lords or the House of Commons. There are three main types of Minister. Departmental Ministers are in charge of Government Departments. The Government is divided into different Departments which have responsibilities for different areas. For example the Treasury is in charge of Government spending. Departmental Ministers in the Cabinet are generally called 'Secretary of State' but some have special titles such as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Ministers of State and Junior Ministers assist the ministers in charge of the department. They normally have responsibility for a particular area within the department and are sometimes given a title that reflects this - for example Minister of Transport.
