I have seen a report of my right hon. Friend's speech, and cannot accept the interpretation of the hon. and gallant Member, move especially as the Home Secretary specifically stated in the course of his speech that he must not be taken as indicating that the Conservative Government was going to put a protective tariff on iron and steel or anything else that comes into this country.
