Part of Oral Answers to Questions — Tangier. – in the House of Commons am ar 15 Gorffennaf 1925.
Sir Robert Gower
, Hackney Central
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether His Majesty's Government has formerly replied to the requests made by the Spanish Government for British approval and collaboration in emergency measures in the Tangier zone; and whether he has any statement to make upon the matter?
Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
