asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is now in a position to state the nature of the reply of the United States Government to the invitation of the three signatory Powers to accede to the Tangier Convention?

As the hon. and gallant Member was informed on the 21st July, the text of the reply of the United States Government has not yet reached this country. It is not possible to make a statement on the subject until the reply has been examined and considered.
