asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what dates have been fixed for the naval display on the Thames; how many and what class of ships will be on view, and in what parts of the river they will be anchored; and if any of the smaller vessels will be placed near any of the lower river bridges?

The Fifth Destroyer Flotilla, consisting of one flotilla leader and eight destroyers, will visit the Thames from the 7th to the 13th July, and will anchor off Gravesend and Greenhithe. Owing to the large size of the vessels I regret that it will not be possible to find berthing accommodation for them higher up the river.

Would it be possible for one or two submarines to come further up the river, and one or two coastal motor-boats?

It may be possible in regard to coastal motor-boats, but I have gone into the question of submarines this morning, and it is impossible, owing to the newer and larger type.

Can the hon. Gentleman tell the House the object of this visit?

Can facilities be given to Members of this House to see these ships as were given when the Fleet went to Southend in 1919?

We will consider that.

If the hon. Member is able to arrange for coastal motor-boats coming up the river, will this point be borne in mind?

Will it be possible for the "Enchantress" to come up the, Thames?
