When the mental condition of a patient in one of the Ministry neurological hospitals unhappily deteriorates towards insanity he is kept apart from the other patients, and every approved means of cure known to modern science is tried. Should the treatment fail to arrest the development of the malady before the stage at which certification is required by law, the necessary steps are at once taken for the patient's removal to a mental institution approved by the Board of Control.
