14.asked the Secretary of State for War whether, having regard to the fact that in March, 1918, the French Chief of Staff pressed for, but was at the time unable to get, British assent to the formation of an army of manoeuvre that could reinforce any part of the Allied line, as well as to the fact that, as is now known, the British Chief of Staff predicted that the British Fifth Army would have to hear the brunt of the German attack and was in danger of being overrun, he will have further in quiry made into the action of the Commander of the Fifth Army, which, as the result of the German break-through, has been called in question?
